Leica User Forum Book Charity Auction
The holiday season, a season of giving, is upon us and we need your help to spread the holiday cheer. Following on from the tremendous success of the Leica User Forum Book launch back in July this year, which to date has seen nearly 250 books sold and more than £10,000 raised for the Association for International Cancer Research (AICR) by the members of the Leica User Forum, Leica Camera AG and purchasers of the book, the organisers are now going to auction a unique copy of the Book, kindly donated by Blurb, that has been signed by Herr Spiller, formerly of Leica Camera AG, and by Norman Barrett, Chief Executive of the Association for International Cancer Research (AICR). All proceeds from the auction of the book will go to AICR.
The auction opens on the 22nd of November and closes at midnight GMT on Christmas Eve, 24th December. You can email your bid (In GBP £) to LUFBOOK2010@GMAIL.COM Please put “LUFBOOK BID” in the subject line and your full name and contact email address in the body of the email. You can bid more than once, but only your highest bid will be counted. The “starting price” for bids is GBP 60 (Sixty Pounds Sterling). The successful bidder will be informed and announced between Christmas and New Year.
Please note the auction is “silent”- your bid will not be opened until all have been received and the auction closes on Christmas Eve. The highest unique bid wins; in the event of a tie, the earliest submitted highest bid will win. Postage and packing to get the book to you (up to a value of GBP 20) will be paid by the organisers. Winners will be notified by email and will be required to make a donation to the value of their winning bid to AICR via JustGiving and to co-operate in publicity associated with the auction. The book will be dispatched once the donation to AICR has been made.
