Rankin: Shooting S-Magazine with the new Leica S
John Rankin Waddell is better known by his working name – Rankin. He is a London based photographer who takes gripping portraits, publishes books and directs films. The third issue of S-Magazine features all photographs taken by Rankin with the new Leica S.
Rankin chose the theme of hair for the issue and let hairdressers show their artistic work. Each hairdresser used their creativity on the models to produce compelling subjects for Rankin to shoot. The project shows The Leica S’s capabilities by shooting on location, in the studio and in a variety of light settings. In the above video, Rankin describes in detail the hairdressers’ styles and the benefits of The Leica S.
