The Red Bull X-Alps athletes have now been running, hiking and paragliding for ten days through Austria, Italy and Switzerland. As the three leading athletes pass the last turn point into France they are getting ever closer to the finish line in Monaco. At the time this post was published, Christian Maurer of Team SUI1 is in the lead with only 67km to go. In second and third place respectively are Toma Coconea of Team ROM with 226km left to travel and Paul Guschlbauer of Team AUT4 with 235km remaining.

Whether resting, hiking or even paragliding, the athletes have been documenting their 864km journey with the help of the Leica V-Lux 30. The GPS feature allows us to see precisely where along their journey the photos were taken.

Here is Max Fanderl of Team CAN during one of his paragliding legs of the race.

The EXIF data from the photo file tells us that this photo was taken at +47° 0′ 10.59″, +12° 38′ 1.69″ close to Turnpoint 4 on the race.

You can continue to track the race with us as the athletes near the finish line using the Red Bull X-Alps site’s Live Tracking tool:
