Every July, Montreux, Switzerland, is turned into the musical capital of Europe. Founded by Claude Nobs, the Montreux Jazz Festival celebrates all genres of music including Blues, Soul, Rock, Reggae, Funk and Electronic Dance Music. 2013 marked the 47th year of the festival and Leica Camera’s Michael Agel was on hand as the official photographer for the event.
Highlights from this year’s festival included performances by Green Day, Wyclef Jean, Prince, Sting, The Lumineers and many more. Michael Agel captured the many angles of music and the spirit of the musicians.
